Maybe it was seeing Angelina Jolie decked out in the glorious fashions of ancient Greece in the movie Alexander, or the presence of designer Goddess gowns gracing catwalk to high street... But the emergence of an 'antiquities sensibility' in 2004 among consumers prompted leading international ancient art specialist Artemission to complement its offering of authentic ancient artefacts with a sister company called Ancienne Ambiance, specialising in luxury scented candles and luxury goods inspired by antiquity.

London-based, Ancienne Ambiance began by recreating authentic aromas for a collection of exclusive scented candles blended with the finest natural fragrance oils. Formulated in France, each fragrance allows you to step back in time and experience the scents favoured by the ancient Romans, Egyptians, Greeks, Persians, Assyrians and Phoenicians.

Claire van Holthe, who enjoys her own strong following of elite clientele including celebrities, created oneof-a-kind pieces that capture the essence of ancient design themes, with a modern design sense and an eye to wear ability... as one journalist put it "vintage accessories to the extreme!".
