O'Keeffe Antiques – what we do

We specialise in selling antique chandeliers, antique lighting, French mirrors, antique gilt furniture and unusual decorative items. The business was founded in 1999 by David & Jean O'Keeffe. The shop is based in Chester but supplies clients throughout the UK and abroad.

We have one of the largest and most varied selections of antique chandeliers lighting in the UK. We stock a huge choice of chandeliers, lanterns, wall lights, candelabras, in a variety of finishes such as metal, wood, brass, gilded brass, gilt, chrome and glass so have something for everyone.

To complement our lighting, we sell beautiful French and Italian antique mirrors and French furniture such as chairs, settees, console tables, etc. As well as this, we have a range of interesting and decorative items such as decadent bed coronets, pelmets, fire chenets and anything else that catches our eye!

We offer a full fitting service which incorporates the use a fully certified electrician who will install our light fittings for you. We also offer a delivery service or alternatively you can collect in person from our shop.

We offer a very personal service and work closely with customers and interior designers to achieve beautiful lighting and interiors to suit each individual home or project.

Restoration of antique lighting and mirrors

As all our lighting is antique, we take great care, time and attention to restore each individual piece in our workshop. Each light is stripped of its old wiring and re-wired completely to an exceptional high standard and in accordance with British Safety Standards. We electrically PAT test each light that has been rewired to make sure it is in perfect working order.

We clean and restore all cut glass pendants, bringing them back to their former glory. Frayed and worn metal pins are replaced as well as any broken glass which is replaced from our antique glass stock collection. We also offer a polishing, highlight and re-nickel service which is particularly effective on brass chandeliers and lights.

We offer a restoration, repair and re-gilding service of antique mirrors and gilded furniture. Where a mirror frame or gilded item has been damaged or broken, we can repair and restore using traditional methods and materials and we are meticulous in our detail to achieve and maintain original colour and features.
